What Should You Do To Your Car Before Winter?

Updated: Aug 8, 2022

Perhaps you are thinking that we just recently escaped the heat of the summer, why should I be worried about winter right now?

The answer is straight forward. There is a lot going on in Albuquerque during the fall and people forget to winterize their cars and trucks. With the new school year starting, green chile roasting, State Fair week and The International Balloon Fiesta, how could we possibly remember to take the time to have your vehicle inspected? Not to mention the almost perfect fall weather in New Mexico makes it very easy to forget WINTER IS COMING!

The reality is that vehicles do not like extreme temperature changes. Battery failures and Coolant System problems are most common when it starts to get cold overnight. Ever have your Windshield Washer Fluid freeze overnight? Winter Tires may need to be installed if you live in the East Mountains, shouldn’t they be Balanced and have the pressure checked first? Why not look at the Brakes to make sure they are safe also? Having your vehicle thoroughly inspected and winterized may save you from expensive breakdowns, being stranded in the cold and smelly rides in the tow truck. Nobody likes to start their day off without their car, so please do yourself and your vehicle a favor, reserve a time to bring in your car to be winterized.
